The Haldi Ceremony are among the most memorable parts of an Indian wedding. Variations of this auspicious occasion can be found in various sections of the country.

A Haldi paste is applied to the bride and groom's bodies before or on the morning of their wedding day in this ceremony.

This ceremony is held following the Mehendi tradition in a few States of the country. The cocktail prepared in the event is well-known.

The wedding guests sprinkle rice on the wedded couple as a symbol of God's blessings.

These mantras are sometimes produced by the family (much like wedding vows) and other times they are older, traditional mantras that have been used for centuries.

The couple and the priest repeat mantras that spell out various blessings for the pair during the Mangalashtak in marriage. 

 The bride gives the husband a bouquet and places her hand on his foot to ask for his blessings.

The Mangalashtak in marriage comes to an end as soon as the music starts playing.

In Hinduism, It Is Believed That A Marriage Is Made In Heaven, And Once Married, The Couple’s Bond To Last For Seven Lifetimes. Marriage Is Considered To Be A Turning Point In An Individual’s Life As They Enter Into The Second Important Phase Or Ashram Of Their Life.

The father of the bride gives his daughter's hand to the groom in this Maharashtrian wedding ritual. After that, the groom ties a Mangalsutra around the bride's neck and applies sindoor to her hair parting. On the groom's forehead, the bride puts a Chandan (sandalwood) tikka.

In a Saptapadi, the couple enters the saptapadi while walking together holding hands and turning one by one towards the center. The groom enters first, followed by the bride, and then the other way around. The total duration of the saptapadi is counted in steps. 

For the Hindu couples, marriage ceremony also includes pre-marriage rituals. In the pre-wedding rituals, which are similar to the Hindu marriage rites, the groom first offers a meal to his parents. 

The bride too visits the groom’s parents and after the ceremonies, the couple is blessed with the blessings of their parents and families and the marriage officially begins. The marriage is celebrated in a temple, followed by a dinner party at home.
